About me
I go by Heckinchonkeires on the internet. I'm also fine with people referring to me by any syllable or syllables from that name for short. I've never encountered anyone else who goes by Heckinchonkeires, so if you see that name anywhere else, you can safely assume that's me. I don't have a preference for any particular pronouns, so use whichever ones feel right to you. The best way to reach me on the internet is through email at dev@heckinchonkeires.me.
I'm an autistic Canadian software developer currently looking for work (please hire me). I aspire to work in interactive media as a tools programmer, so I develop my skills and focus my efforts in that direction. I'm also passionate about accessibility, particularly on the web, and I take digital privacy very seriously.
About this website
This is my personal portfolio and blog. I have all sorts of other things I'd like to put on the internet, but I'm prioritizing my career for now. That means I'm working on software projects and writing about them and related topics. I expect to publish a decent number of posts as long as I remain unemployed, though I don't intend to stick to a schedule. Also, I'll continue to update my project pages as I get work done that's worth sharing.
Accessibility
My goal is to make this website as accessible as I feasibly can. However, it's still relatively early in development and I have plenty to learn about web accessibility. I plan on meeting the WCAG 2.2 standards in the near future, so I hope I'll have addressed most common accessibility issues at that point. I want to do more than those standards recommend after that though. So if you encounter any barriers in accessing this site, please reach out to me at dev@heckinchonkeires.me and let me know what I can improve.
